Author Interview || Srijoy Mitra

Its my pleasure to introduce Mr. Srijoy Mitra, author of “Golden Wings”

Srioy Mitra,  Calcutta born and raised North Carolina is a true musician by heart and a black belt degree holder in Tae Kwon Do. Apart from creating and producing songs, his passion for reading and writing is to be applauded. At the age of 24, this young man has come up with his book ‘ Golden Wings ‘. Let’s see what Srijoy to say to his book readers.

Srijoy Mitra

1. How did this journey of writing started ?
I wrote about the three years I spent at Drexel and sent it to some people. After it got noticed I began writing other short stories. I then started writing Golden Wings for fun, because the idea flowed well. I also started reading more books after my second year at Drexel, this sparked writing ideas.

2. What do you think makes a good story?
Always wonder, what is the reader going to get out of the is book? What is the reader gaining from the chapter, from the page, the paragraph, the sentence and every single word? Every aspect of the piece must be edifying, educational, intriguing, something. Suspense, mystery, comical, depressing, frightening, shocked? What do you want to the reader to feel, to understand, to see, to hear, to realize?

3. What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating
your books?
Once my thoughts were laid out, new ideas would arise. I wrote the story in a way which sense to me without much effort. The idea just flowed out. My experiences were useful for creating the novel.

4. Does your family support your career as a writer?
They did not know I was writing. They support me for my skill in songwriting, singing and piano playing.

5. What is the significance of your book title?
Golden Wings represents the limbs of the angels. Tangela is a name of a character in the book. The meaning of the name is ‘angel.’

6. One message to your book readers ?
I needed an outlet for self-help and relaxation. Netflix was not quite doing it, although the setting is completely fictional, it is an exact replica of places I have seen. The experiences are very real, I wish some of them were not, but these things happen. It would be great if people could relate to aspects of the story.

I take this opportunity to thank Mr. Srijoy for his patience and time, special mention to Literoma Publishing Services team.

Cheers
